2D Bar Code Specifications

The 2D bar code specifications for tax year 2009 and 2010 forms are now available for downloading. Since we prefer the 2D bar code method for computer preparation of paper returns, vendors providing 2D bar codes will be designated as preferred software vendors for tax professionals. For more instructions about 2D bar code processing, see Administrative Release 26 (revised September, 2009).
